About the Role
Sureel AI is building the standards and infrastructure for AI rights, licensing, attribution, protection, and intelligence, starting in music and expanding across media. Acquired by Warner Music Group, Sureel operates as an independent, federated company. As Sureel's first dedicated marketing hire, reporting to Co-President Aileen Crowley, you will own category positioning, product marketing, thought leadership, demand generation, and brand, shaping how the industry understands the emerging AI rights, licensing, and attribution infrastructure category.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Sureel's marketing function end-to-end: category strategy, positioning, messaging, product marketing, demand generation, thought leadership, brand, and execution
- Own product marketing across the Sureel stack, translating technical capabilities into clear value propositions and messaging for each customer segment
- Create sales and executive materials, including pitches, case studies, demos, and other collateral
- Build targeted demand among qualified rights holders, AI companies, platforms, and ecosystem partners
- Build communication channels and programs to educate, nurture, and activate key audiences
- Lead thought leadership across Sureel and the broader AI rights and licensing landscape
- Develop Sureel's brand and market positioning across audiences and channels
- Own event and industry presence, identifying conferences, forums, and communities for participation
- Turn pilots, integrations, partner outcomes, research, and product data into proof points and case studies
- Track how the market is being framed by AI companies, rights holders, regulators, standards bodies, competitors and media
- Support leadership on announcements, conferences, and PR, working with Warner Music Group brand and communications teams
- Manage agency, influencer, and creative partners
Requirements
- Deep experience in marketing, product marketing, category creation, or communications across music, media, enterprise technology, or infrastructure
- Experience owning marketing for a brand or platform, from strategy through execution and measurement
- Understanding of the music industry and how artists, labels, publishers, and platforms communicate
- Comfortable with data and financial detail; able to build and manage a marketing budget
- Strong storyteller able to make complex technical concepts clear and engaging
- Nice to have: experience as a first or early marketing hire building functions from scratch; experience marketing to artists, labels, publishers, or B2B platforms; experience running email marketing programs; experience marketing APIs, infrastructure, or rights technology
