TicketSwap, a marketplace with over 20 million fans in 42 countries, is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager in Amsterdam (hybrid, office-first) to lead and grow autonomous cross-functional engineering teams.

About the role

You will lead one or more teams of backend, frontend and mobile engineers and help shape planning, delivery and culture across the engineering department, as TicketSwap works towards more alignment and predictable delivery while keeping team ownership.

Your impact

People and team leadership: coach engineers, build psychological safety and accountability, and handle performance management with care.
Delivery and ways of working: improve planning and delivery flow, set goals and priorities with Product Managers, and evolve shared principles without overriding team autonomy.
Technical direction and operational health: work with senior engineers on technical direction and blockers, and keep on-call, monitoring, incident response and learning practices healthy.
Department-level impact: collaborate with other Engineering Managers, help evolve culture, processes and structures, and reduce friction between teams.

Requirements

Several years managing engineering teams in a product-focused environment.
Experience leading cross-functional teams and improving ways of working as organisations grow.
Comfort with teams that are successful but not identical.
A belief that speed and quality are not opposites.
Motivation to help people and organisations grow.
Based in the Netherlands, holding an EU passport, or holding a partner or highly skilled migrant visa for the Netherlands.

Practical details

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands (hybrid, office-first)
Full-time (32-40 hours per week), fixed-term, Product Engineering department
Salary: EUR 85,000 - 97,000 per year including holiday allowance
