Head of Accounting, Control & Compliance

• Reporting To: Global CFO (Australia), dotted-line to Head of Group Finance & Reporting (Australia)

Overview

Owns the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of entity accounting and compliance, leading the accounting "engine room" across all jurisdictions for the Songtradr Group.

Job Duties

• Lead the global accounting function ensuring operational excellence across core financial processes
• Own the entity month-end close cycle for on-time accuracy and completeness
• Manage, develop, and engage a team of five global-based finance professionals
• Collaborate with Finance Operations Manager and team on data entry and up/downstream processes
• Design, implement, and enforce internal control frameworks, including banking relationships
• Own statutory and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions (payroll, filings, audits)
• Own the ERP system as accounting "super user", keeping Chart of Accounts clean and scalable
• Drive continuous improvement across systems and processes
• Approve key payments across AP, payroll, statutory, and tax

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong experience leading accounting functions in multi-entity, international environments
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (local GAAP and IFRS)
• Proven ownership of month-end close and financial reporting processes
• Deep understanding of internal controls and compliance frameworks
• Experience managing statutory reporting, audits, and regulatory requirements
• Experience with ERP systems and scalable Chart of Accounts
• Strong leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams
• Experience in high-growth or scaling businesses; exposure to global finance structures
