Muse Group (Hal Leonard) is looking for a hands-on Commodity Buyer to own US purchasing for two core direct-material categories, Sheet Music and Musical Instruments. A newly structured seat under the Global Purchasing function, open to candidates in the US or Europe.

What you'll do

Own US Sheet Music and Musical Instruments direct-material purchasing end to end: suppliers, sourcing, POs, order confirmations, master data and price files
Document and stabilise the inherited Musical Instruments category into a clean, shared record
Bring Sheet Music buying (paper, print, binding) into the same structure with documented suppliers and terms
Protect US direct-material supply into the holiday peak
Work AI-first: tiered approval model, spend cube, automated PO and confirmation workflows
Negotiate and consolidate: standard terms, framework agreements and a tidier supplier base
Feed the ERP (NetSuite) transition with US direct-material procurement requirements
Report performance to the Global Purchasing Manager and operations leadership

What we're looking for

4-7+ years in direct-material purchasing, buying or commodity management, ideally across more than one commodity
Hands-on ownership of the full buy cycle: sourcing, PO management, order confirmation, supplier communication, master-data hygiene
Comfort with AI-assisted approval and automated PO workflows
Strong supplier-negotiation instinct and a track record of documented savings or supplier consolidation
Discipline with data: clean records and accurate price files
Nice to have: direct-material experience in paper/print, publishing or musical instruments; purchasing inside an ERP migration (NetSuite); degree in Business or Supply Chain; CPSM/CPM
