As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Content Protection team, you will design and implement systems that protect Epidemic Sound's enterprise customers from copyright litigation and licensing risks. The mission is simple: paying customers never lose sleep over music licensing. You'll join a highly collaborative, cross-functional engineering team working closely with Data and Machine Learning functions, as well as legal and business operations, to ensure precise data to enforce rights.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-end ownership: architect, build and maintain critical infrastructure and monitoring alerts for content protection and rights enforcement services
Build high-throughput services that continuously fetch, parse and analyze massive volumes of usage data from platforms like YouTube to monitor compliance
Query the data itself, spot where signals are weak or cases are being missed, and decide what to do about it
Collaborate with ML engineers to develop advanced detection models and arm business operations with actionable data

Requirements

6+ years of experience in backend software engineering with a focus on designing and scaling distributed systems
Proven experience building high-throughput services and data pipelines capable of handling massive volumes of data
Proficiency in modern backend languages (Python, Go, Java) and cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS)
Strong architectural mindset with the ability to take full ownership of a system from design to deployment
Comfortable with agentic engineering

Nice to have

Experience working with UGC platform APIs (like YouTube or TikTok)
Experience with streaming technologies (like Kafka)
Previous collaboration with machine learning teams on data-driven detection tools
