About the Role

At Algoriddim, engineering and design are closely connected.

djay combines real time waveforms, turntables, effects, gestures, animations and spatial interfaces, so UI quality is a fundamental part of the product experience.

We’re looking for a Product Engineer focused on UI and graphics who combines strong engineering fundamentals with exceptional attention to visual detail.

Someone who can take an interaction from simply working to feeling exceptional.

You won’t just receive pixel perfect designs to implement. You’ll have room to explore ideas, prototype solutions, challenge assumptions and help define how the final experience should look and feel.

About Algoriddim

Algoriddim is a Munich based music technology company and the team behind djay, one of the world’s leading DJ applications.

Our products combine music, design and deep technology to make powerful creative tools feel intuitive and accessible.

  • 80M+ downloads worldwide:
  • 3× Apple Design Award winner:
  • Used by DJs and music creators around the world

We’re a small, founder led and highly product focused team.

What You’ll Do

  • Build polished, responsive and highly interactive interfaces
  • Design and implement animations, gestures, transitions and complex UI interactions
  • Prototype and explore different solutions rather than waiting for a complete specification
  • Work closely with designers and engineers to shape the final product experience
  • Spot visual and interaction details others might miss
  • Debug issues across UI state, rendering and performance
  • Take features from early concept through implementation and final polish
  • Help continuously raise the quality bar across djay

What We’re Looking For

Your title might currently be UI Engineer, iOS Engineer, Product Engineer, Design Engineer or Software Engineer.

What matters more is the quality of the products and interfaces you’ve built.

You’ll likely have

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals
  • Experience building sophisticated interactive user interfaces
  • Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering, Maths, Physics
  • Excellent attention to visual and interaction detail
  • Strong instincts around layout, motion, responsiveness and usability
  • The ability to turn ambiguous ideas into polished experiences
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • High ownership and the confidence to propose better solutions
  • A genuine interest in how the systems underneath the UI work

Most importantly, you care about the last 10% of quality that separates a good interface from a great one.

Nice to Have

Experience with any of the following is valuable, but not required:

  • Graphics or real time rendering
  • GPU technologies or shaders
  • Animation systems
  • Creative or professional software
  • Audio or music technology
  • Performance sensitive applications
  • Touch, gesture or hardware driven interaction

You don’t need to be a graphics specialist, but you should be comfortable investigating what’s happening beneath the UI when something freezes, renders incorrectly or performs poorly.

How We Work

You’ll join a small engineering and product team where individuals have meaningful influence over what gets built.

Engineers contribute directly to product decisions, ideas are discussed openly, and design and implementation happen closely together.

We value people who are curious, self-directed, detail-oriented and willing to keep iterating until something feels right.

The Process

01 Screening Interview (Technical)

A discussion around your experience, the products you've built and how you approach UI problems.

02 Screening Interview (Cultural)

A conversation about you, what you're looking for in your next role and how we work together at Algoriddim.

03 Technical Interview

A deeper technical conversation with one of our Co-Founders about engineering fundamentals, UI architecture and how you solve problems.

04 Take-Home Task

A practical UI engineering exercise with room for creativity, focused on both engineering quality and product judgement.

05 On-Site Meeting

Meet the team in Munich, walk us through your solution, decisions and trade-offs, and talk about ways of working, product philosophy and mutual fit.

How to Apply
